Veerappan-End of days

At last, the mission is accomplished. The infamous, menacing sandalwood smuggler Veerappan was shot dead in a police encounter yesterday.A man is said to have lead a useful life only if there are atleast 10 people that shed tears when he dies.I am sure there will not be anybody who would have shed tears for this beast's death. But,somebody may argue that he has helped the villagers and tribes that lived in the forest.I will not term it as a help if it is done at the cost of so many lives.

This encounter should have been done years ago.Even if he was not shot dead now,he would have died in another 2 or 3 years of old age. But,if he dies like that, then the Justice of the Almighty would not have been served on him. This is the most suited death for such outlaws. So,better late than never.

Thanks to the opportunistic media,he was wrongly projected as a hero amongst the public, showing him doing prayers. But,people were smart enough to ignore that kind of cheap business.Heights of this hypocrisy was, showing a video of his narration of a Police Officer's brutal murder. In such cases, one cannot help but to agree with our President that Indian media should have a code of conduct.

The effect of media is very strong and they should realize it.It can mislead the common man to any extent. That was very apparent when the actor Rajkumar was kidnapped by Veerappan.I was one among the thousands of Tamilians whose lives were at stake till Rajkumar was released.

I can only hope that the media again does not show its ugly business face and start doing all sorts of nonsense coverage about his lifestyles and other stuffs.
People say "no news is good news".But,it is "Bad news is good news " for the media.

I still wonder why it took so long for our Special police force to nab him down. Was it a fact that he was the master of the forests and our force did not have knowledge about the forests? or this delay was a deliberate act of our politicians?

But,one thing is very sure. With his death, lot of secrets about his underground links with our dirty politicians will also be buried.

On a lighter note,it was 'very sad' to see his face with a trimmed mustache.
